The competition is between you--and yourself

" Every class is a warm-up toward stretching your limits."

Beginners or black belts, we train our students to the best of their ability. Some students come to us in shape, while others have come to us 100 pounds overweight. Most come to us with limited flexibility. Children who started as early as age four, and adults who started as late as age 65 have earned their black belts with us. As a student, you are looked upon as an individual, never compared to anyone else. Your instructor will be there every step of the way. All that is expected of you is a willingness to try.

"Even as the body weakness, the spirit must never quit."

  • if Columbus had turned back after the first storm.
  • if the Wright Brothers had given up their dream of flight after the first crash.

Otsu Dojo Katare is a discipline. You learn to never give up. We call it "non-quitting spirit"-- the ability to accomplish what you thought was beyond your capabilities. It means believing in yourself. Your instructor motivates you to accomplish whatever goals you set. You will learn that Otsu Dojo Karate is not just physical. It's an elevation of the mind to overcome life's challenges.
